it would be great to have somewhere a customer can go to create new offer lines, much like an editable list tab where they can select the rules. i.e.
Promotion type drop down:
- apply % discount on prod cat X,
- apply % discount on prod code X,
- apply % discount on basket,
- add free product etc...
other possible Rules:
- promo code XXXXX is entered
- prod code XXXX is added to basket
- Basket value = £xx.xx or more
- any item from prod cat code XXX is added
- £xx.xx or more is spent on prod cat XXX
- applies to company type of XX; YY and ZZ
- applies to S/L Codes ABC001; ABD002 and XYZ003 etc....
Exceptions i.e. do not allow promotions if:
- account on stop
- credit limit exceeded
- brand new customer to website e.g. no web order history
- have already purchased from the website e.g. have a web order history
finally, with a date range to and from and an obsolete/on/off flag.
We built the majority of the promotions functionality a while back but did not fully integrate it into the CRM and eCommerce platform.
We will be looking to enable this functionality in both the CRM and eCommerce in the coming months.
There will be an admin interface to configure these which will either be in the admin portal or the product manager.
The campaign enhancement is one we have planned but not yet implemented. We will probably do this as a phase 2 but would be a great feature to have.
Is there an update on this?
Another quite common variation of this are promotional codes sent to specific customers as part of marketing campaigns that can be applied in the checkout process.
or a wizard driven process to setup a promotion could be good, a bit like contact selection wizard...
Really like this idea, so many customers want this now and to have a proper managment section for this that has lots of predfined options would make a huge impact.
