We have done a recent update to show the interaction in the activity stream above the note so that it shows as:
You added a note (a month ago) - Interaction Type Here
Note text here
i think we don't want to show the interaction type like this if the interaction is "general note" - ie. for "General Note" I think it should just say "You added a note (a month ago)" ... adding "general note" to the end of this is just messy, unfriendly, bad english and cluttered
But, taking that further, why don't we just substitute "added a note" for the interaction type (accepting that for some (including the most common, General Note) this wouldnt make a great sentence, so we probably need to add a "sentence text" to the spoke code ... this should mean the same as the drop down text but make a better sentence (and can be set for our default spoke codes, and for pre-existing custom spoke codes you can just use the existing text) ... so you would get:
- "You added a note (a month ago)"
- "You left a message (a month ago)"
- "You left a voicemail (a month ago)"
- "You added a note (a month ago)"
- "You spoke to the contact (a month ago)"
This sounds pretty minor stuff, but its increasingly what users expect. For instance in Google Maps in the morning it gives a whole, friendly sentence of "Fastest route via the A40, despite heavy traffic" - it doesnt say something techy and totally shorthand like "Fastest Route: A40 - Heavy Traffic"
