We currently only have 5 or 6 drop down for custom fields. Can you increase this to 10? Drop down is a good way to remove data inconsistency such as Dan Murphys and Dan Murphy's
Hi - you can at the moment only set tags for a company via the company screen (i.e. one company at a time). There is an idea in this portal that has quite a few votes to make them available in bulk-updates. If you want to add your votes to that you can just search for the id SPA-I-1344
You can however already report on tags via the report builder, and you can filter on them too (See attached screenshots). You'll see in the report output why choosing colours is an important consideration though. Because there could be lots of tags on any given record, they are represented as coloured dots - the full tag description simply wouldnt fit in the report. But each coloured tag does have a mouseover.
Filtering by tags is also pretty easy, just select the tag component in the filter list.
Hope that helps.

Hi Andrew, I am happy to give tags a go, i also noticed that there are different colours, but there are only 10 colours. It would be great if we can get just transparent with no color or white.
How do i run reports on tags as i cant see them on the drop down menu when finding fields for reporting. Also, I assume tags can be viewed in power bi for visualisation?
Have you tried using tagging for some of your requirements (instead of dropdowns?)
Tagging obviously isn't quite the same but it gives you the rigidity you want (using defined tags rather than inconsistent text entry) but is more flexible and extensible. You can also group tags together with colour coding.
While we may be able to increase the number of dropdowns in the future, doing so (across all entities to be consistent) is a bigger job than it sounds. So, perhaps a mixture of tags and dropdowns will meet your needs in the shorter term.
