first highlight (light red/orange?) when the order qty is more than the currently available qty, then second highlight (dark red)
OR, if we don't like that, float a warning toaster in green for splitting but less than total available, and warning for more than the total available? maybe with a system option?
I realise this does some of same as the due date splitting but some customers dont do back orders, they just want to sell what they have, and either way the system should tell you when you have gone over what you have..
Also, even with the stock split by date we have just written, it isnt clear to a user when you have oversold the max available.
NOTE: we now have the total available calculation on stock items - so figuring this out should be easy.
In the latest release we've added a warning icon on any quote line rows when you try to quote for (or enter an order for) more quantity than is currently available.
This needs to be considered in tandem with the Excel order upload function, someone using that needs a notification of any uploaded items exceeding qty available / total available.
I think individual line highliting in light orange for those exceeding qty available and red for those exceeding total available would be good, but there should be a summary in the quote header, which states the qty in each bucket of oversell, i.e this quote includes 40 units which cannot be fulfilled immediatley and 32 units where there is insufficient total inventory. This header summar would need to refresh as lines are added to the quote.
