Have the ability to build a calculation in reports e.g. Order line qty times product weight equals total weight.
It may also be worthwhile having a read only custom calculated fields on pages.
Whilst it is easy enough to export to Excel and do it, it would be useful to be able to Summarise or Group in a report from a calculated field.
I was just about to submit an idea for this too.
It would be great if you could add a calculated field to show in a column within a search list or report for example https://crm.prospect365.com/view/Report/QuotesAndOrders to show values that don't exist in an existing field that could be calculated from other existing data
We are looking to do the exact same function. Total weight is needed to estimate shipping costs. Every quote line has unit weight and quantity. We need to export to Excel then do the math. It's not difficult but at our volume of quotes it becomes time consuming.
On a related note quotes in Unleashed can provide total weight.
I suspect plenty of Prospect users need to also provide shipping estimates.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the response. Yes, my immediate query was regarding total weight for quote lines.
Ultimately, my aim has been to determine the total weight of coffee we have sold, and break that down to more granular elements such as weight per customer or region or date, for example.
I did create a custom field in the Product entity for the weight in KG, as we use the weight from Unleashed as the gross weight e.g. coffee + packaging.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim. Thanks for the suggestion. Adding a generic solution for user-defined calculations is a big job, but you've given a very specific example here. Is your immediate need just for "total weight" on quote lines and quotes? if that's the one you specifically need we could probably just add that - it seems like something that other users would find useful too.
(and then perhaps add a more generic way to do user-defined calculations in the future)
