I suspect our search will never be as good as google - they set a very high bar!
But, we have recently added some logic so that some of the scenarios you describe will work better.
For example, if the customer record is "C J Pheonix" and the user types "CJ Pheonix" then the record will now be found
Similarly you will now be able to find "O-EX Industries" by typing OEX; or "C.J. Pheonix" by searching for "CJ Pheonix" And the same on contact names too - so you'd find O'Reilly when searching with the term "OReilly"
As I say, this isnt perfect and certainly not as good as google search, but hopefully a bit better with these enhancements.
Note: this release is still going through release rings so isnt rolled out to all users yet.
