Change status in activity

If you begin an opportunity, with, for example, the fourth status selection, the activity (falsely) displays that the opportunity has made its its way through the previous three statuses. If statuses 1 to 3 have been skipped, the activity is giving a false perception of the opportunity. See attached screenshot example.
