Currently when sending email on a contact, problem, quote or opportunity the last active enagagement field is not updated on the parent company record. I believe that this should be updated as if you are corresponding and sending emails out to a customer on these records there is a form of enagement that is taking place. In order to update the last active engagement field our users would need to send an email out and then leave another note with the type of active engagement outlining that they had just sent an email thus creating a duplication of work.
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the reply. What if a customer was to reply to an email a sales
person sent out - would that be classed as active engagement?
Thanks,
Alesha Rielly

This is by design. Sending an email to a customer really isnt an active engagement in the way this is intended to be used. Active engagement is intended to record event where the customer actively engages, not whether the sales person has attempted to engage the customer.
There is a seperate field on an opportunity which records the last activity by the user which includes email sending ... so it might make sense to cascade this up to a "last activity" on the company record instead.
Yes please!! This enhancement will help manage our engagement with customers.
