Tie an opportunity to an order and automatically prompt to update/close the opportunity status
We would like to be able to tie an opportunity to a quote/order and have it so that when we place an order for a customer that it automatically closes the order, sets the close date and amount.
Hopefully those updates and that explanation helps to resolve these challenges. I'm going to mark the idea as shipped but feel free to update us with any other challenges or if you need more details. thx.
We've made a bunch of user interface updates to try and help everyone better manage opportunities and quotes: 1. if you start with an opportunity and then need to quote the customer or place an order, the simplest thing to do is to "Convert" the opportunity to a simple quote, enter the products and prices, then (optionally) send the quote to the customer, and finally confirm the order into your ERP/Accounting or Inventory management system. If you follow this process then the opportunity status will be automatically updated and all tied together.
2. if you dont use simple quotes and instead create subquotes, confirming the subquote will now prompt the user to update the opportuinity status (which may not want to be just set to sold if there are more quotes still outstanding), and again this will help to ensure the opportunity is updated and all matches.
3. if your user doesnt start by loading the opportunity, but instead just hits the "global create" button to create a new quote or order, they should be able to set the opportunity as the parent (see screenshot below) and tie them together that way - and again, having done that, item 2 above should then help to ensure the opportunity is updated alongside the quote/order.
Setting opportunity as the parent when creating a quote or order:
Are the orders being processed via the CRM? or are you processing orders in your Accounts/ERP system and then wanting to subsequently match them to the CRM Opportunity somehow?
Prompt/Automate change Opportunity Status when Confirming an Order
Merged
When confirming an order, it would be great if the Gutometer and the status on the lead automatically changed to "100" and "Sold" respectively. This would prevent human error, as it can be sometimes easy to overlook this when confirming an order. ...

Prompt to close Opportunity once Quote is Confirmed
Merged
In version 6, if a quote was confirmed underneath a Opportunity, you would be prompted to open the Opportunity to Close it. This prompt is not in 365 and you can be left with open opportunities once the quote has been confirmed.

Yes, they are orders processed via the Prospect CRM and then go into Unleashed
