Currently once an order is confirmed, you can cancel this which marks the order as cancelled, but does not remove the order from the ERP account. If the user then has to reconfirm this, it will create a duplicate in the ERP.
Having a warning prompt to ensure that they wish to cancel a confirmed order will prevent users from mistakingly cancelling an order that they would then need to reconfirm and clean up in their ERP.
