At the moment, the Preference Centre is only available in-house to us, not to customers. It would be great to roll this out to all customers as it's something that they are now expecting to have (our CommuniGator customers in particular, and any future MailChimp customers would). It's also something that we detail on our Enhanced Email Marketing pricing with CommuniGator. This makes it difficult for us to show them if it's not yet available to them...
We would need to work out with PEB how long the process takes to do from our side to see whether we should charge the customer for our time (as CommuniGator will be charging £250 for their time already). If they want the Preference Centre linked to their CommuniGator system, we have to map the fields to the ones that CommuniGator make for them. We would also need to work out a system for the grouping of types of communications - for example, in our CRM, I have got x6 groups e.g. Product Updates, Events & Webinars, Promotional Newsflash, Reports & Whitepapers etc. but our customers may wish to have different options. For example, they may wish to have 'Monthly Newsletter' as one communication type. We would therefore need to work out if we:
1. Think of all the possible options they would want so then we give them a list to choose from and only allow them to pick 6
2. Let them decide exactly which options they want so they can make up their own names and only allow them to have 6
