A potential customer that Joe was speaking to is about to order our CRM for lead tracking, but plans to use another product for quoting and is asking about integration.
Having reviewed that product, it seems to have only two features that we dont have (or dont have without extra setup/config and so aren't as obvious, and in which our options are definitely less "immediately available").
The video below shows how they have implemented two things:
1. searching of 3rd party catalogues (probably using the catalogues we are familiar with) ... but interestingly in theirs you do a live search rather than importing the entire supplier catalogue. For eCommerce this might not work but for CRM its perhaps simpler (for the user), less processing intensive (for us), and is guaranteed to be up to date data.
2. eQuoting Portal - without the need for an account login (just with a token in the link i guess).

Apart from that maybe a few other bits to pick up:
3. the quote line shows a field that says how the line was priced - in the demo it says "override" - the UI is nasty but effective in this regard
4. the use of templates for input - this isnt pre-poluated products i think but configured screens.
