This was an old feature that hasn't been carried over. I prefer to open any links in a new window, as I refer back to both pages.
Thank you for your suggestion. The CRM is a single page application which means it is a lot faster to open records and navigate around if you stay within the same tab. You can however choose to open records in a new tab by middle clicking any link (or clicking the mouse wheel), rather than left clicking them.
