If an bulk update fails a message appears in the top right of the screen. However, if the user goes away from their PC or to another screen whilst the updates are running it is possible to miss this message. If the update fails it goes back to the choose your options screen with no other notice that the updates have failed. It would be better to have a clickable error message for this to ensure it is not missed, with more details of why the updates failed at the moment it just states 'one or more rows did not update'.
