Dimensions API Integration to prevent duplicate entries

The current dimensions integration is based around scheduled syncronisation - this results in duplicate records that we continually have to merge. Can this be changed to an instant sync via an API rather than a timed sync ? or should a mapping be available from dimensions to convert a prospect into a company ?

Example, creating a new customer
The quote is done in CRM, the customer applies for an account before the order can be placed, accounts add the company to dimensions and it creates a duplicate customer in CRM which then has to be merged.
Accounts could have been clever enough to go into CRM just at the right time between syncs to enter the code on to the CRM company record but they still might miss the sync and a second company is still created.

It is possible to create the customer from CRM but this is the example of how that doesnt work either.

The quote is done in CRM, the customer wants to confirm the order, the salesperson tries to place the order and the account doesn't exist in dimensions, the salesperson is presented with the new customer account wizard but doesn't know what the next account code incriment is and if it is available so goes for ABC001 - this might not be the companies preferred format (would be good if this could be defined and CRM auto suggests the next code based on a predetermined format).
The salesperson then confirms the acount, thinks that the account is now created and then tries to confirm the order only to be presented with an error saying that the Sales Ledger ID doesn't exist.
I'm sure the integration and user experience could be made a lot slicker and reflect the integration cababilities that are present with a product like Xero. thanks for listening
